KEY WORDS: Babylon Bee, Transgender Tyranny, Free Speech Problem
Although the fact that the New York Times opinion piece, America Has a Free Speech Problem, clearly recognizes the current attack on the Constitution’s First Amendment, making the column extremely newsworthy, that doesn’t mean that the Times’ editorial board passes the litmus test for truth.
For example:
“Many on the right, for all their braying about cancel culture, have embraced an even more extreme version of censoriousness as a bulwark against a rapidly changing society, with laws that would ban books, stifle teachers and discourage open discussion in classrooms.”
Is banning books for young children in the classroom that promote open sex, a perverted view of sexuality and gender, and a distorted view of U.S. history an even more extreme version of censoriousness? Is it wrong for taxpaying parents to call on teachers to be held accountable for their actions? What type of open discussions? The discussions led by activists pushing for the destruction of conservative values and thought?
I wouldn’t call what many Americans are doing or hoping for today as extreme or an act of censorship. That premise about the right stated in the Times’ column is false.
I would call the actions of those opposed to the cancel culture crowd: a desperate and needed attempt to remind everyone that the Constitution has a just worth and that truth matters.

America Has a Free Speech Problem
BY THE EDITORIAL BOARD
THE NEW YORK TIMES
For all the tolerance and enlightenment that modern society claims, Americans are losing hold of a fundamental right as citizens of a free country: the right to speak their minds and voice their opinions in public without fear of being shamed or shunned.
This social silencing, this depluralizing of America, has been evident for years, but dealing with it stirs yet more fear. It feels like a third rail, dangerous. For a strong nation and open society, that is dangerous.
How has this happened? In large part, it’s because the political left and the right are caught in a destructive loop of condemnation and recrimination around cancel culture. Many on the left refuse to acknowledge that cancel culture exists at all, believing that those who complain about it are offering cover for bigots to peddle hate speech. Many on the right, for all their braying about cancel culture, have embraced an even more extreme version of censoriousness as a bulwark against a rapidly changing society, with laws that would ban books, stifle teachers and discourage open discussion in classrooms.

‘Truth Is Not Hate Speech’: Babylon Bee Hits Back After Twitter Locks Account Over Transgender ‘Man of the Year’ Post
BY BILLY HALLOWELL
FAITHWIRE/CBN NEWS
Christian satire site The Babylon Bee is digging in its heels after being locked out of Twitter, refusing to delete a tweet that purportedly violated the social media giant’s terms of service.
The stalemate unfolded Sunday after Twitter accused The Babylon Bee of “hateful conduct” over a message about U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine, a biological male who identifies as female.
“I just received this notice that we’ve been locked out of our Twitter account for ‘hateful conduct,’” Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon shared in an Instagram post. “We’re told our account will be restored in 12 hours, but the countdown won’t begin until we delete the tweet that violates the Twitter Rules.”

Transgender Tyranny in Women’s Swimming: How Emma Weyant Was Cheated, a Man Won, and the Truth Lost
BY WILLIAM WOLFE
STANDING FOR FREEDOM CENTER
As long as women’s sports are dominated by transgender tyranny, second place is now the new first.
That’s the takeaway from this week’s national collegiate swimming championships when Lia Thomas, who is a man pretending to be a woman, finished “first” in the Division I women’s swimming 500-yard freestyle final. In doing so, he cheated “second place” finisher Emma Weyant of her rightful place at the top of the podium.
Of course, the mainstream media is touting the outcome as if it is some historic first worthy to be celebrated, or at least, to pass by unquestioned. Far from being praiseworthy, what the nation witnessed on Thursday night — one man competing against seven women, cheating both an eighth women out of a spot entirely and the seven others out of a fair shot at winning a championship they have trained their entire lives to compete for — was an open display of biological insanity and misogyny. It wasn’t a step forward, but rather a step back. Men competing in women’s sports, literally erasing women from the top of the podium, is a malignant manifestation of an ideological cancer plaguing this country, one that should be denounced and banished from the public square, not celebrated or ignored.
